Yeah, great. Aim the up more so you blind everyone else more with the horrible light scatter. [/sarcasm]
I haven't seen one HID install into a standard halogen case that didn't have a buttload of light scatter. Not only is it blinding other people but it's diffusing your light so it isn't concentrated where it needs to be.
I love HID's, but only when they are designed to be in there and project light properly.
The only thing I would consider HID retro kits is for off road lights, or possibly very low aimed yellow fogs or something. Maybe one day I will change my mind if I see one that looks to project light well...?
You are not the first dissatisfied HID customer I've heard of, just maybe the first on this site.

Mine actually throw much less scatter than I was expecting. I'll grab pics tonight when I get my fogs installed. I have yet to be flashed, I don't expect I will.

The light looked cool, but there was still a fair amount of scatter
lol

I'm just saying, I don't know if I would like them on one of my rigs. I think they look good, I just don't like the pattern that comes out of them with bright spots and dim spots. Maybe one day I'll change my mind, I don't know.
But I know a lot of people that feel the same way.

Don't you also lose the high beam function with the HID retrofit kits?

LOL! The 4 banger NEVER gets overtaken! lol

And look into it a little more. I am pretty sure that you can't have HID's but go to a shop and if they say yes then get it inspected. I would do it right away if they say it is cool. Then you will have a year from now before you have to worry about it.

They were kinda bright but not too bad. It also wasn't pitch black out either though so it might be worse when it gets darker.
