painting chrome grill

So i know there are lots of threads on HOW to paint the chrome section on the grill. However, i want to hear from people who have done it, and how it's held up over time.

I have a spare grill that has the outer shell in chrome, i will be painting it black, and want to know the technique you personally used, and your experiences with it.

What i don't want is someone who hasn't done it taking me the best way to do it.

Use plasti dip it works great and holds up well. If you screw it up you can peel it off since it s a rubber coating and not paint.

Plastidip is a good option but not so durable. Painting is still the right route.

I wouldn't paint chrome at all. Buy a new paint to match grille and paint that one. It'll flake off of a chrome grille even with sanding and a primer
