I just bought a set of Ranger emblems on ebay and i wanted to paint them white (the color of my car). I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of paint would work best? Oh yeah also how to remove the Ranger emblems i have on now without scratching my truck? Thanx i appreciate the feedback.

 

sand em down, then use krylon fusion

to remove the emblems use fishing line and use a sawing motion to "cut" the emblem off.

 

Has anyone done this before would it look nice you think?

 

What emblems are you doing this to.......The stock ones on your '04??

Do you want it to look like an Impala?? Where the entire emblem is color matched to the truck???

What I think would be cool, is painting the black white, and leaving the chrome. Paint the whole thing, then when the paint is tacky, use a q-tip with acetone to get the paint off the chrome. Well.....don't know if this'll work due to aceton eating up plastic....but it;s worth a shot with you emblems on you r truck now.

 

acetone wont eat the chrome if you are quick about it...the paint comes off pretty quick though! i think they would look good completly color matched. a friend of mine painted the emblems on his toyota truck black. the truck was red and it looked hella good!i think this would look good on the regular ranger emblems. as for the 06's paint them white, then recolor the ranger part red or some other color.

i color matched mine, but i have the old style emblems, idk if you got the news ones or the old style.

taking em off is easy with a hairdryer/heat gun, and some fishing line or somthing similar to cut the backing off when its hot
