Patching Rust Holes in 2007 Bed
Patching Rust Holes in 2007 Bed
Hello -
My (new to me) 2007 has a couple of rust holes under the OEM plastic bed liner. I plan to buy some new patch panels and have them welded in. My original intent was to have a Rhino or Line-X bed liner applied after the repairs and ditch the plastic one. But I like that the plastic liner helps distribute the weight of the load, especially if parts of the metal bed have been thinned/weakened by the rust. So now I'm considering reinstalling the plastic liner, even though it probably caused the rust holes in the first place. Any thoughts on applying a DIY spray-on or roll-on bed liner to protect the bed before reinstalling? Or should I just trust the patches, and do the Rhino thing? Thanks!
