Pic Request: Camper Shells
I've always wanted to run a nice looking cap like Bryan's old truck's cap....but with swing up side windows for putting things in and out w/o having to crawl in the back. Basically a mix between a 'pretty' cap and a ugly contruction cap. lol. The only thing holding me back from actually getting one...losing a toolbox.
I will get one someday for the old danger ranger...I'v always freakin' loved caps.

I would probably just use my toolbox if not for my cap opening on the sides. You can get a smaller toolbox for inside.

I have not found that problem. I suppose it may stay dirtier than the rest of the truck in theory but I have not had anything stuck in the space or was dissatisfied once I took it through the car wash or hosed it down. I have very little space there now. JC Whitney used to offer a weatherstripping that would fit between the cab and cap back in the 80's but have not seen it there for years.
I put an inflatable boot between the two sliding windows. It made some noise (not too bad) but rain still fell between the two. Either way keeping the window on the cab closed, it kept it clean and easier to see. Plus if I had a dog in the back I could run the a/c and keep it cold (or warm) back there. It did wear off the paint on the front of the cap a little though.
4 clamps and a plug and it comes right off. I took mine off several times to haul dirt bikes and other stuff. Plus a van obviously doesn't do the same thing as a truck, lol.
It is for functionality.
