In the process of doing the Headlight Mod: (yea I know its taken over a week so far )

Painting grille black:

Right now there is just some red primer. There are some bubbles so I am wet sanding then laying down another coat then on to the black paint.

my guess is he wanted to make it black, i think i saw that in a thread atleast. Its cheaper then buying a new black grille atleast

Yes I really have had no motivation at all for a while with my truck and now I am starting to like it again! Its a love/hate relationship.

Man me neither, it's just hasn't been fun to work on recently. I have too many little projects going on

I am just painting them all black. But if I find a good deal on some 06's I am scooping them up.

how are they lights gonna perform painted vs stock since you painted the the shinny reflective portion? just wondering because i think this is pretty cool if they are just as bright.

He painted the un-used chrome...no light output difference. That's what this mod does.....painted the unused chrome...makes it all sweet lookin' and stuff yo.

Today so far I have laid down 2 more coats of primer for 3 coats total and I just laid down my first coat of black. I plan on doing at least 4 coats of black and 3 coats of clear coat.

Just put 3rd coat of black on grille and 1st coat of clear coat on headlights
