Trimming and 'glassing completed over the past few days. It was fairly nice today, so I sanded everything, took the hood outside and scrubbed it top& bottom, then i put a coat of self-etching primer on the underside. Hopefully I'll be able to get a coat of high-build primer on it this weekend.

My plan is to get the underside all nice and smooth, then paint that myself. Once that's done, i'll drop it off and have the topside painted professionally.

Be a good project for Pedro to work on between now and June!
I'm planning to get it to my body man before the end of April--It's gotta be ready before Carlisle in June.
Trust me, I'm getting pretty antsy to finish it, but after all of this time and work, I refuse to rush it meow.

I got the bottom side painted this afternoon--5 fat coats of Rustoleum Automotive enamel. It goes to my bodyman in two weeks to have the money side painted and cleared.

Yeah-I'm really suprised with the shine of the Rusto straight outta the rattle can. Top going to be just plain black. I did think about doing some sort of flat/satin black accent, but i couldn't come up with anything that I liked

You could always change it up later if you think of something.

A little more done today--I got the mounts for the QuickLifts riveted on, bolted on the hood latch keeper, and installed the filler flaps.

Taped and protected the now-fully-cured underside when I got home from work tonight. Tomorrow I'll flip it and start the final bodywork on the topside.

Going into the bodyshop for paint on monday morning!! I can't wait. All the body work is finally done, the primer is sanded, and it's ready to go.

Yeah pretty much the same clearance so you're dead on. They didnt put the covers on the interior holes, I dont want water settling in there.

I look forward to the end result of this...

It's something I've been kicking myself for letting both my brother and best friend sell theirs for too cheap of a price!! Sooo wanting a 04-05 LII front end w/ 01-03 dome. But don't wanna chop mine up. lol. Good CLEAN work you've done to yours. One of the cleanest fit ones I've seen. Very even, very clean.
