Removing spray paint/chip guard

Hey guys got a question that probably has no answer as I have no faith in finding a way to remove this crap but i'll give it a shot! guy i bought my '99 from did the lower half of the truck in black spray paint and undercoat. i want to remove it, but not damage the actual paint itself. any chance? long shot but maybe somebody has the answer!

Try a 3M Eraser wheel that attaches to a drill. These are typically used for removing factory decals and pinstriping without affecting the paint underneath. Just don't hold it in one spot too long as it will burn through the paint underneath.

Should be able to find them at the local parts store, or ebay, or a knockoff brand.

So there, your unanswerable question has been answered.

Give it a shot. Otherwise if it's all wavy and crappy, just get a vinyl pinstripe and run it along the seam where the 2 colours meet.

oh yeah, those work pretty good at peeling paint too if you have it on a powerful narrow jet.
