Replacing OEM foglights
Replacing OEM foglights
Well i currentlly have a broken fog light lens ether some crooked person smashed it or i got hit by a rock on my daily 189 mile turn pike drive. But any way i am trying to find ether replacment lens or replacement lights. I would love to find yellow tint ones that will bolt right in to the pre-cut holes on my 03 bumper. Does any one know where i could track any down?
Actually I was really curious because I'm tired of my OEM's leaking lol. I tried sealing them but I think my mount tabs for the lens are broke anyway.
i chekced rock auto and couldnt find any that had the yellow tint to them....unless i was looking in the wrong area. but i do know the OEM replacemtn ones they have are like 40 bucks or something in that ballpark.
The last pair of OEM replacements I bought have lasted nearly 6 years without fogging up. My left side one has the chrome interior starting to peel off and there's a leak issue to it. I'm also replacing it with a OEM.
I've looked on Rockauto, LMC Truck, and eBay........seems the price of these have shot up HUGE. I bought my last pair off eBay roughly 6 years ago and I got them shipped for less then $50US for a pair!!
Now they range from $40-$60 a piece without shipping!! The eBay sets from sellers like K2 come with the wiring and relays, which also drive up the price. Pointless and a waste for those just wanting to swap the fog light unit out.
As for the HID's, don't bother. You'll have to upgrade your wire harnesses just to be safe, and also run the risk of having them smashed out by a pissed off person. Normal fogs are 35W, the 9005's that most people use are 55W. If you go any brighter, and use them while driving on public roads, you'll get flashed for sure. Non OE HID kits on vehicles should be policed more. As much as I hate doing it, I'll flip my high beams and aux 130W fogs on them. Nothing worse then some dick with improperly aligned HID's in your face.

I dont see how a 3000K HID Foglight would bother anyone when they are generally aimed what 12inches+ lower than headlights? You run the risk of **** getting smashed by a pissed off person no matter your bulb is. The hids dont require a harness.. been running them for over a year and a half no issues and never been flashed for my 3000k yellow fogs. And I would bet my 3000k fogs project better than most fog kits in the winter where I get foot upon foot of snow and cant see with headlights.

I was going to replace both as well, now after seeing the price of them, I'll wait until it's really screwed up to replace it. I don't know why the price is so high. The 04+ square ones are cheaper.....LOL
Correct me if I am wrong but ours are glass 01 - 03 and the squares are plastic.
So for kicks when I was at the stealership getting a replacement window regulator switch I asked how much a replacement fog light is.
I told him I wanted one and he said they were $115 each
But he said since they've been sitting on the shelf for so long he'd sell it to me for $60. Still a lot, but no shipping costs.
But still that's only one
