replacing passenger side mirror.

i just shattered my passenger side mirrior. and now i have to replace it. what years will fit my 97?

If you want larger (and, in my opinion, better looking) mirrors, you can get a set of '06 mirrors and do the simple modification to make them fit your truck.

Get the explorer ones. If you don't want to do any mods. The are direct bolt on and plus they look a heck of a lot better than the crappy "flag" looking ones.

im going to stick with ranger mirrors so i only have to get one side since im low on money right now. so anything up to 06 will fit my 97?

Yeah well like MJ stated 06+ will work just slight modification.

yea i would like to do this but i dont have a dremel tool at the moment. hopefully looking to get one since there are a lot of mods which need those.

im actually going to do the 06+ mirrors using a hack saw and a sander. but i have a quick quesiton. i know ill have to cut down the three studs the screws are coming out of but i saw a piece in the middle of the mirror do i cut that down also?

No, you don't have to cut the middle piece off. There's a hole in the door that it will fit into.

ok thank you. so just the three holes where the screws come out off. hopefully the junkyard wont screw me over with the price

i just got back from back from the junkyard and am extremely annoyed. i called them and asked if the mirrors were good even though they were online and the guy said they were fine. but when i get there after waiting a half hour he tells me that they are both shattered. so there goes a quarter of a tank and a hour and half for nothing. never going to this yard again. looks like ill just order it online or not get an 06+ mirror.

are there different types of mirrors for the older style. im looking at a jy site and it says rally mirror.

There's only 3 diffrent kinds. The old flag style, the 98-05, and the 06-12

o they changed the mirror style in the 98. if only my truck was one new year newer.

I got mine off a 02 ranger at the JY for $45 for both.

That's not bad! The first '06 mirror that I had (sitting in my room now with a stripped screw hole), I bought from Pull-a-Part for $22.

got screwed by another junk yard, i got there and they told me it was broken after i had to make the trip back again. apparently they have one a 93-97 mirror at their other shop.
