If you want larger (and, in my opinion, better looking) mirrors, you can get a set of '06 mirrors and do the simple modification to make them fit your truck.

Get the explorer ones. If you don't want to do any mods. The are direct bolt on and plus they look a heck of a lot better than the crappy "flag" looking ones.

No, you don't have to cut the middle piece off. There's a hole in the door that it will fit into.

Correct. And like Brandon said, post photos if you can. :)

Here's how they look on my truck:

i just got back from back from the junkyard and am extremely annoyed. i called them and asked if the mirrors were good even though they were online and the guy said they were fine. but when i get there after waiting a half hour he tells me that they are both shattered. so there goes a quarter of a tank and a hour and half for nothing. never going to this yard again. looks like ill just order it online or not get an 06+ mirror.

There's only 3 diffrent kinds. The old flag style, the 98-05, and the 06-12

There are also these early ones that are shaped a little differently than the Explorer and '98-'05 mirrors:

For comparison, here's an Explorer with the '98-'05 style mirrors:

That's not bad! The first '06 mirror that I had (sitting in my room now with a stripped screw hole), I bought from Pull-a-Part for $22.

Did the mirrors change any in 2011 or are we talking 2006 thru 2011?
