Shaved My Tailgate...

Got bored and shaved my tailgate this weekend. I'm not done yet still have a little touch up to do, and fix some lines but its nothn much. My tailgate had a few dents in it so while i was doing bodywork i shaved the ford badge and the handle. Picked up a cheap sir michaels tailgate relocator kit a while back for the hell of it. here are some of the progress picks. I'll take some more when its done and pics of it on the truck this week.

here you can kinda see all the dents..

Looks awesome Andy.

And I bet your girlfriend will appreciate the shaving.

Hows your garage coming along? Let's build some new offroady bumpers, eh?

so, did you add more welds to smooth it out? or did you just bondo over the holes?

you're not suppose to weld it strait up.. it will F-up up the tailgate and will put sweet wripples in the metal. I added more tacks yes. but not full wrap welds

i understand what you are saying. Ive seen people full weld theirs and it warps the metal from the heat. But at the same time, if you leave too much gap, the bondo can crack out easier

Looks good though, id like to see it painted soon, unlike some people (highroller...hehehe)

yeah i know what ya mean. there were no gaps when i was done, just a few shallow pits i filled with bondo. i know what can happen with holes or too thick of layers. ha

and yeah it will be painted asap. I might actually repaint my whole truck..gota figure it out still
