Skid Plates Factory??
Skid Plates Factory??
Hi guys,
Just wondering i'm gonna go look for some factory skid plates tomorrow at the junkyard, they said they might have some there.
I have an 07 Ranger and I was wondering if there are only certain years that skid plates would fit on my truck, like from 2000-2009? or whatever?
Thanks

Can't help you on what years will fit what, but I just came across this.
Not sure where Shediac is but I figured I'd post it up. Price seems a little steep but you never know.

does anybody have any pictures of the front factory skid plate installed?
I'm not really sure where it's suppose to be mounted, I've bought them all today from the junkyard today and that's the only one that i'm not sure of, it's a small one.
Thanks

You'll need toget a '03 and olderish fuel tank skid, unless you want to drop your gastank to mount bolts on the straps...thats how my '05 tank skid mounts. I now have an '02 skid.
Tcase: all interchangable.
Front: all interchangable.

i had a explorer tcase skid plate on my ranger and my b2 . As far as i know the 1992-1994 skids will work on the first second and third gen rangers and both gens of the bronco 2s'. I'm not sure on the newer ones i assume it the skids off of a 95 up should fit the gen 4 ranger some one correct me if im wrong.
I have the OEM Stainless Steel one that i robbed off of my '00 before I sold it. Like Shane said-it's more of a triangle shape. My '04 had some sort of plastic shroud that protected the area around the transmission cooler lines and lower radiator hose-I popped that off and the front holes for the skid plate screwed right into the same threaded holes in the frame. The back holes line-up with 2 holes in the crossmember-they're a ***** to get to, but I just used some 1/4" x 1" SS bolts, washers and stop nuts.
Not much of a skid plate, but it looks good when its all polished-up (I just had it off this weekend and have the band-aids to prove it!).
