I've decided I really hate those damn nerf bars, side steps, whatever ya wanna call em. Who's done it and whats involved. Looks pretty simple like remove the bolts?

As far as I know that is all that hold them on. Now when you take them off you can just go a head and pack them up and ship em on down to me.

Yeah, I looked under there, saw several big honking bolt and that was it. They really don't serve any purpose for me, other than looks and they are a PITA to keep clean. Was thinking of maybe selling them if there's interest.

i think its basically the looks, because i dont see the need in them, the rangers not that high so its not like you need a step.

Thats what I just asked my husband. I've never stepped on em and I'm only 5'6". Go figure...I like the old school look with none. I can't wait to get em off!

There's 2 studs sticking through the front body mount. To retrieve the bracket the studs are attached to, you must pull up the carper and pull the body mount cab boot, then pull the bracket out. Then towards the back theres 2 vertical bolts and 2 horizontal bolts on your rockers. All take a 15mm socket.

It makes it easier for short people like me to get in tall trucks.

I took mine off and there were, I think but stand to be corrected, 4 bolts on each two in the front two in the back but mine were a PITA cause they were rusted

Mine came with the truck and I kept 'em 'cause of looks/lazyness.... now I have the truck lifted and I use them from time to time... almost everyone else who gets in my truck uses em... and I like the look... it's a personal preference thing for sure

You dont have to pull up the carpet/vinyl, but the person who's buying your bars sure could use that bracket that has the bolts attached to it...

I recently put them on as well. I love the look. Gave the truck some OEM look to it and provided something for my parents to step on and complain less about with my truck when they ride with me lol...

You won't you just pull the plastic mouldings and pull the carpet back, pull the rubber grommet for the steps in the floor, and once the nuts are off the front you can pull that bracket through with the studs on it.
