I saw an F-150 with the lambo style doors the other day. The guy had to step out, turn to the side, scoot out toward the back of the truck and then go an help his girlfriend out the other side. Also, he had no cars next to him, so I guess that is how they open. It didn't look like a well thought out system to me, but it was a pretty truck overall.
Suicide doors would be alright though except in a crowded parking lot it could be pretty hard to get out of or into.
Yeash, I sound like my Dad! wet blanket!
I think they need to make roll top doors...you know, so they just slide up into the roof!
OR...doors that pop out an inch, then lift vertically up to roof height and then tip over above the roof completely out of the way! AND...if you could open your doors automatically with a remote key thingy!

Gull wing doors rule, but they wouldn't function as you would want like a Delorean's. They only need 14" of clearance to swing open, but the door also consists of part of the cabin roofing. Might be more work than it's worth to mod a Ranger that way, otherwise you would need a LOT of clearance to open the door straight up.

There is no sterotyping of it its just called bodywork and being creative. Most of the time they did it that way because they liked it not because they did not lack funds or have time to do it.
