Icon5 Taking the ford oval off tailgate on 02, Will there be holes? :(

Hey guys, I'm considering taking the ford oval emblem off my 2002 ranger's tailgate. But, I keep hearing things about the emblems on rangers leaving holes behind in the body after removal, which makes kind of afraid to go and take it off. From what I can tell it looks like its only held on by adhesive or something, am I wrong?

Here is a picture of the emblem if it helps.

There are alignment pins that go into the tailgate so there are holes. What are you wanting to do with the emblem off?

Yes you will have holes behind the emblem. Shave it!

I just like the look of a clean tailgate and I'm running out of things I can do for no money soooo I was curious, Thanks for the help though!

I would really like to shave it later on! along with a few other things...but, I'm a poor college student right now..so I'm short on cash and can't go get it re painted!

I know this may be a long shot and kind of stupid question...but, would anyone happen to have pictures of these alignment holes or be able to tell me how large and ugly they are?? Thanks guys!

I just had mine off this weekend for my new Ranger badge. If I remember correctly, they were at least like 3/8" in diameter. There were 3 holes.
