I did my Mustang's tails too. Im upgrading to the 96+ lights. I hated the louvered lights on the Fox Mustangs, and I hated them on the 94-95 Mustangs too.

I still gotta install them though,... tomorrow..

cant even really tell they were done, without knowing it, looks awesome... total non heatscore!

just curious, when you were sanding, did you sand off the DOT emblem at the bottom?

I didnt intentionally sand off anything. I was only using 1000 grit paper so i doubt any of it came off. I didnt want to sand too far into it as well because the thinner the red gets, you might get a color difference in spots. so i just hit it enough to make it not shiny anymore. Then i hit the edges with a gold scotchbrite pad.

Wait... i remember now.... its still present. I remember seeing it when i was spraying it.

ok, cool, reason i ask, is if you were to remove that DOT embossing, DOT could claim your tails are not approved and condem your vehicle based on it, even though they are stock... (would take a dick of an officer though)

and being that it is still on there, you could say that it is factory...

I used some of our clearcoat with about 5% of our single stage black mixed in. I also threw in about 4 drops of blue to help get rid of that "brownish smoky" look that tinting sometimes leaves. I am happy with it.

Yes, I wanted that subtle look as I don't really like the super dark blacked out tail look either. I just wanted something that wasn't such a big contrast between the black body and the red lights.

Now I'm thinking the SPORT stickers stand out too much lol.

Sweet! looks good! Its just enough tint to kind of make the red look deeper and richer instead of totally blacked out.
