Alot of folks end up replacing all three housings. I think ebay even sells all three in one auction as a combo.

yea...maybe somehow incorporate those pieces from a 04+ header panel....glass it in to your current header panel, paint it........it's gonna be the first one. i do like the idea.

header panel is what your grille, headlights, corner lights are attached to. Hood striker as well. "glass" is short for fiberglass. header panel is made of fiberglass. On 01-03, the painted piece under the headlamps is incorportated into the grille's outerhousing...so it's one big piece. on 04+, those pieces under the headlights are incorporated into the header panel. IMO, that makes for an expensive fender bender in case you crack yours grill....you'll need a new header panel as well. But that's for the '04+ models.

I was pondering the idea, in your original post, of finding a junkyard w/ a wrecked 04+, and it has good pieces under the headlamps.......but them off the truck, take them home. Procede to fiberglass them to your current header panel under your headlamps.....rattle can to match the truck. Vuala! Sweeet, wicked, never been done mod.

I might be onto something here. lol. I'm just throwing out there what I think is a great idea that i just came up with.

Reason for fiberglassing......is you can't weld fiberglass.......fiberglassing is layers of resin and layers of fiberglass for a strong bond.

EDIT:

Nobody has answered one of your questions about turning your corner light into a turnsignal.

You can do the "turnsignal mod". I believe there's a how-to here for the 98-00 models. Now, I don't know how it's going to work right w/o there being any of the factory signals there though......the mod works off of the hot wires on the factory turnsignal.
