What did you pay for it? Or am I blind and didn't see you post it?

TrePaul86 07-28-2009 02:21 PM

Ouch.

Another one bites the dust!

I bet I could make that for around $100! Dang that's spendy, but it is bolt in which is nice!

WowMike2001 07-28-2009 02:25 PM

Yeah, I sadly don't have the fab skills to make my own, much less the tools, welding equipment, and shop to work in.. so I have to pay to play as it were :-D

And yeah man, Take some measurements, I can swing out sometime and let you inspect it, figure out how you want to make one for your own truck.. as I see it, this is the only true way to mount a spare without taking up like 70% of our bed space.

TrePaul86 07-28-2009 02:30 PM

Yeah I actually thought about making one of these before I saw yours, last year in school... But didn't have anything to take hard measurements off of!

I'll check it out on the 22nd and we'll talk! I really wanna see this thing!

Trigger01 07-28-2009 05:42 PM

Not my thing, but it looks good.

Something got dropped off while I was pressure washing the front patio today... :-D :scool:

Attachment 144340

Quickly finished up the pressure washing and scooted into town with my precious cargo tossed into the back, bit of a drive back (damn traffic).. but here is the reward after 2 and a half hours of heading into town and back to get it mounted up and balanced!

I went off to Walmart and picked up a much more heavier duty cable to secure it - this thing is TOUGH, and well worth the cheap 19 bucks I paid for it, very thick - as big around as my thumb!

And of course, the outside view of it - Fits perfect, and the auxillary lights are fully visible under it - 35's woudl block it, but a 33 is perfect!

i want

Woods-Rider 07-30-2009 10:48 PM

looks good. I think you should just get those security lugs though instead of that cable, will look way cleaner. How is the visibility out your rear view mirror? looks like that may cut it down a bit. looks sexy though.

Just a slight bit less then having a big crossbed box in the back actually.. sure - I cant see a little honda with that mirror if its sitting directly behidn me, but I couldnt see it anyway with the lift in the rear I have sooo ;)

its perfect for what i was needing it for thank goodness, now I actually can sprint around out in the woods and not worry about some funky terrain and un-beading a tire or slicing one open too much!
