Westin Safari Bar Question???

Ok so i went to pep boys to actually pick one of these bad boys up in chrome so it would match my front Grille. Well i ask the person if they had it in stock so she looked in the Westin Catalog. Well there was an astric right next to the bar for the 2000 ranger and it said "1998-2000 FORD RANGER (EXCLUDES 2000-02 "OFFROAD" PACKAGE)"

I have the 2000 Ford ranger "Off-Road Package" 4X4.

Does this mean the bar wont fit my ranger?? or is there a way to get it to work cuz i really like this bar! Thanks

Ford did not make the FX4 until 2002. Do you have a front skid plate on your truck? If so you will probably need to make a few minor cuts on it to fit the safari bar. If you don't I really can't see why it would not work.
I remember (and this is going back quite a while) a member with a level II that had to make some modifications to the front skid plate in order to bold up a brush guard. I'm pretty sure the safari bar and brush guards mount up to the same points on the frame.

Im not sure about the OEM skid plate.... is the OEM plate just a plate that covers the bottom of the motor in front towards the front bumper or what? ill take a gander under my truck tomorrow but if someone knows for sure about this, please let me know, thanks

yes, if you have a skid plate, you will need to modify the brackets for the westin bar.
