In the pic I have 28% (FL limit) on the sides and double 5 on the back.

My Final plans for the truck (years off) after the motor swap and lift and tires is to murder it with double 5 in the rear, 5 on the sides and 20 on the front. But I live in FL...we actually know how to tint windows here.

I rock 20% on every vehicle i ever owned and never go into trouble with five O. Maybe i am lucky. On my ranger it had the tint in the back from factory but i got 20% over that too, along with the fronts. And a strip on the windshield that is 5%.

that quote is pretty fair if they're gonna strip the old tint to do it right. I ran 5% on the back and sides and 30% on the front sides of my wagon, and I got hassled by the law dogs, but no tickets. The quotes for that car was around $300-$400 because of the glass area, so I just did it myself.

Thats pretty reasonable for a professional tint job. If done right its not a 20 minute job...its pretty involved and a royal PITA

dude, i'd go somewhere else.

go with someone who doesn't tell you you have to remove your stock tint.
and who actually does normal tint shades.
haha

I paid 180 for 5% all around. I had a car done with legal tint. They told me the law in FL. is 20% in the rear and 35% up front. The 35% was so light that it almost wasnt worth having it put on, but it wasnt my car so oh well. The percentage of the tint is only a gauge of how dark it is. Its not the % of light coming through. 5% tint only blocks 60% of the light. I bought a box of 5% tint to double my windsheild strip and it says it blocks 60% of light.

They didnt tell me it had to be removed some one here did
the only reason im going there is cuz the other places aroud here are known for crappy tint jobs ive heard from 6 different people that went to other shops and they all had to have their tint redone at the place im going to
it's the only reputable shop around here

I think CA law lets you have 20% on the front 2 windows and 5% on the rear. A CHP, and PD told me that 20% is legal on the front 2, since I always got pulled over in my old car with 5% all the way around. But that was 3 years ago and I never know what they hell kinda of law CA is going to come up with next!

I think California law is 70% up front( which is nothing ). I don't think you can have any tint in the front. I just got 5% in the front of mine and i LOVE it.
