Wiper Arm Compatibility

I was looking at my driver's side blade over our last storm and it was having a hard time pressing down hard enough to make the wiper make full contact with the windshield. The joint where the arm connects to the splined nub is pretty loose. Ebay has several listings, but the newer ones say they are for 04+. Looking at a few of the the pictures, they look the same. Anyone know if I can put a newer model year arm on my '98?

I did search, not many relevant threads on arms.

I'm the only one I know that has a Ranger. Maybe I could ask the Advance Auto guys if I could play with their wiper arms...I think they have Rangers.

I purchased a set of Arms from Auto Zone for my year truck or you could go on line to a Ford Parts House and buy the replacement, maybe Rock Auto.

Also, when replacing the Wiper Bladed, get the single bar type and get them 16” instead of the 18” which is OEM size.

16” IMHO… does not take away any of the actual viewing area and reduces the drag on the motor and linkage assembly.

well isn't this funny. I went to fordparts.com to see what the online catalogs say.

I looked up the '98 arms...part number 17526 for $32. Qty per vehicle 1, Qty per package 1.
I looked up a pair of '08 arms...part number 17526 for $16. Qty per vehicle 2, Qty per package 1.

Arms are not available on AutoZone or RockAuto.

At least i know they are the same.
