Its the Fill hole for the IRS explorers remember there just a diff on those trucks and CV's so doesnt need a whole heck of alot of fluid... DO NOT EVER recommend using it as the ranger full plug still use the front one in the axle... the only reason that plug is painted black is the guy doing the powder coating didnt want to heat it up because it is a magnet on the back so its the only thing not powder coated
i think it was 50 shipped from him i cant remember to be honest. and it was $25 for having it powder coated

it prob does cool it a little the benefit is the drain plug on the cover so i dont have to keep opening the cover to swap fluid. thats all... and I like them and my stock steel one was crap and dented so it had to go...
Cool. What kind of gasket is on it?
I'm thinking of getting a mag hytec diff cover for the rear of my F150 (9.75"), but I'm not sure what to run up front (8.8"). I would like something with a magnetic drain plug and fill hole (higher than that one) on the cover.
