Ok... so are you still running leafs? I mean, I just don't see getting 16" of travel out of a leaf pack.
he has 16" travel shocks... he may not be getting that much travel tho. |
You guys have to realize that he has a special leaf pack under his truck. They are f31 deavers and they are meant for our trucks. He is probably really close to 16" of travel because i have a 14" stroke shock and have f31 deavers and im pulling 13.5" in the back.
|
but whats your shock stroke ratio....his is 1:1

Lol that's only my half. My buddy is paying the other $875. We are paying $1675 a month for 2 bed 2 bath. That's actually low for where we are living. We are pretty much going to be next to Chapman college in Orange. Normal cost for something like that around here is $2000 to $2500 easy. So if I lived where you did my truck would be completly done. Since I live here in Orange County where everything is wanna be lifestyles of the rich and famous I have to pay that amount to live.

these are just shocks, not coilovers. so they dont have near the force on them.
single shear will probably be ok but optimum would be double shear. The shock still has all of the valving to control the spring in them, so everytime you hit a bump/land or whatever you've got the weight of the truck trying to compress the spring and the shock has to slow it down, same for the unsprung weight pulling on the shock when you hit a hole/get airborn. I would never run anything single shear and feel comfortable, especially after seeing whats happened to a double shear mount from a single race before. |
i just don't understand why all these guys try so hard to make their trucks offroad and they'r e 2wd! save alot of money and buy a 4wd
|
uhh, this one is made for the desert, dont really need 4wd.
|
[QUOTE=034x4;1459476]I remember talking to a guy at fox while I was at the fabschool, hauling ass in the desert a shock can travel speeds up to 3-4 thousand feet per second.
QUOTE] I dont believe that for a second. |

If you've heard of prerunners then you should know most of them are 2wd. You don't need 4wd for tearing across the desert.

Where did he ever say he wishes he has 4wd? I bet his truck would kick yours ass out on the desert, which is exactly what he built it for.
