cutting bedsides

I need to cut some of my bedsides, my only option to shorten them is on the rear to shorten them up.

Any of you guys that have shorten the rear or have pictures of chopped bedsides care to share?

I have an idea in my head but im not really sure how it will all come together after its cut. Another hurdle is the one fender is already twisted up.

I want to shorten up the rear. When I started tearing everything apart I wanted them shorter, now im not so sure but figure I might as well do it. I am not shortening the wheelbase at all right now. I figure I can cut like 10-12 inches out of the rear then weld it back up. trim the bottom then get them repainted. The truck is just too long past the tires and I was always hitting it on trees or rocks.

i saw someone cut them where they wanted then take a piece of 4" pipe(or appropriate size) and roll the fender around then tack it back to the top and bottom. looked way freakin kool. ill see if i can find that thread.
