Superlift also makes 1 for the 8.8....

Id go with the Ruffstuffspecialties cover. I have one for my front 44. It is crazy beefy. 1/2" flange with 3/8" cover.

PotterFX4 03-28-2007 08:44 AM

I like the spider diff guards, I may get one along with a chrome cover. Mine is more for show with the occasional potential for actual protection.

99ranger4x4 03-28-2007 08:54 AM

dont like the superlift too much...

but too bad yall didnt chime in sooner, i ordered the spider one 2 nights ago...

and that rough stuff one was the one i was talking about..

FMD 03-28-2007 10:17 PM

stop backing into stuff and you wont need it ;)

99ranger4x4 03-28-2007 10:28 PM

what im slowly getting into is rock crawling, as much as a ranger can do that is.. and i know that eventually im gonna come off some rocks wrong..

its just nice to have the added security back there

if your trying to get into crawling, id change your coming soon sig to 15x8 steel wheels

99ranger4x4 04-08-2007 10:08 PM

i got it on 15x10, but good catch haha

turns out i ordered the PCP Half guard... the holes dont line up and the mounting surface hits elevated part of the diff cover..

so im gonna send it back and get that fixed.

the 8's will allow you to air down more, with less risk of blowing a bead.

blackbetty 04-11-2007 08:47 PM

i like the first one you posted, a very nice cover ied sport.

not as road friendly though are they? i have seen x14.5's on a 15x8" wheel perform flawlessly at 3psi..

i need a happy medium between road and trail.. unless i can get a good deal, im working on some 15x8's right now.. maybe just trail tires, we'll see how the money looks

anyways, i got my diff guard in, all but one bolt fits if no one saw my other thread

outdoorsman 04-12-2007 11:26 PM

looks nice and beefy! why didn't you get a full cover? just curious

99ranger4x4 04-12-2007 11:29 PM

the full cage?
or the ruff stuff one?

this one looked cool, and i couldn't find the other ones before i ordered this one. then again i didn't look too hard

outdoorsman 04-13-2007 12:18 AM

99ranger4x4 04-13-2007 07:20 AM

didnt feel it was necessary, but now looking at the 1/2 cover, it doesnt go up nearly as high as i had expected..

who knows i may sell it in a few months..

Victory 04-13-2007 08:06 AM

Now I am thinking you can install the half cover without much lube leakage? A full cover you have to remove all of the bolts which seems you could break the gasket seal? Or do the covers only line up with every other hole or something like that so you have no leakage?

PotterFX4 04-13-2007 08:50 AM

I have the half cage like you have but I also got an anodized cover and stainless bolts. hopefully I can get it installed this weekend.

I pulled the bottom 5 bolts, no leaking..you MAY get away with pulling all 10.. but you may also pull all 10 expecting it not to fall off, then have a massive mess lol
