question for radiator shroud and skid plate

im going to be building a prerunner style front bumper soon. my truck has a square plastic radiator shroud that extends below the radiator an inch or so. should i make the skid plate go right under this, or cut it off and make the skid plate a little higher?

i cant really tell from any of the pictures ive seen how msot people do it.

thanks

take it off and put the skid right there.

you dont need to cut it off if its the one i'm thinkign about, you shuold just be able to pull it down

i think its a molded piece that also has a "ring" that surrounds the fan. wasnt sure how important that part was, hence the reason i said cut off the bottom.

but ill check ti out in the morning and see. maybe get a pic too

I used the stock bolts from that held the plastic to hold my skidplate.. I dont have a welder so it's all bolted together.. it drops down about the same amount the plastic one did, though I could have made it closer.. hope that helps any on the skidplate side of your question//
