old bumper, new truck

well, since the new truck is a fleetside and the EDGE was a flareside, i had to hold off on swappin the rear bumper over. i got to work on it today, and ended up stretchin the bumper 2.5" on each side to make it fit around the fleet bed.
still looks the same(Jus wider), but here a few pics for grins anyhow.

i basically jus cut both ends off, turned down some slugs to go inside, added a 2.5" piece to each tube and welded everything back up. meant to take pics during the mod, but forgot the camera

if i had originally built this bumper for a fleetside, i would have extended the sides a lil further forward, but oh well.

oh, and i finally got around to cappin the ends of the main tube. i ran outta time to do it when i built it the first time.

I dunno, it just looks like a malnourished bumper. Very meager materials. If you like it, that's all that matters though.

i built it from 1.375x.095 4130 chro-moly; its plenty beefy w/o being excessive. while it may look malnourished next to your rear bumper, it also doenst weigh 150LBS

i didnt forget the license plate mounts i decided not to add them, incase i do sumthin different with the plate later, i wont have to go back and clean off any extra tabs....
