how would i mount this?
how would i mount this?
how would i go about mounting a prerunner light rack on my truck like so

while still having a windshield? haha i have no problem bolting into the roof for the supports that come off to the back, but im not sure for the sides, maybe something inside the door jamb? i dont want to bolt into my pillars and welding is just out of the question. i was also just thinking if completely necessary i could have a little bar that came down in the middle and sat on my windshield and had a rubber pad on the end so it doesn't smash my window. anyone else have some ideas?

Here's the easiest way you can do it. Get a Defender roof rack, then get their desert light bar. I couldn't find anything with a Ranger but you get the idea. This is something I was thinking of doing but I don't really want to drill holes in my roof.

Uhh , Last I checked , the windshield is NOT a structural component of a vehicle.
perfect! thank you S-10 killer.
the lights from my roll bar suck, and half of it just hits my roof so i lose a lot of light, and that is exactly what i was looking for, like i said, i have no problem drilling into my roof for some support (hell, ford already did it for a stupid satellite radio antenna that looks dumb!) im still not sure about welding to my pillars, i dont want to have to repaint things but if i can't find another way, won't be too bad...

well there is only room for one tab per side for the lights, i can pull the plastic off the inside and see what i have for space and ways to mount , i just don't want to weld because i want it to be removable if it has to be, but i guess with the holes in the roof its kind of perminant haha oh well, i have plenty of time to plan
haha lol. yeah it does help a lil i guess... >,>
i was gona put 3 bolts per tab originally.. but when i was mounting them i saw that only 2 were more than enough....
but if he wants to make a light bar only with 2 tabs per door will be strong enought even for sitting on top! could even come high on front for the lights with a curve down to the end of the cab, might look good. thats what i would do if i get a full size one day :)
^^ just saw your post
on the rear doors i did put 2 tabs per side if u look. the rubber get a tight fit but it can open to grab the bolts no prob, also it doesent bother closing the doors at all, and its still removable and no-one will ever find out theres 2- 4 holes under that rubber. actually im planing to run another whole though there to pass the cable to sound my air horn i mounted this week on the roof.

that defender one is pretty cool, but the only way to mount it to a newer ranger is by drilling into the roof and bolting it through it. Tad bit sketchy, especially if you want to take it off later down the road.
