latest welding project
well for Christmas my dad wanted one of those baskets that slide into your reciever hitch and i'm taking a welding class that i needed to do a project in so this is what i came up. it was almost dark here when i took the pic so other then that what do you think

well he just wanted angle turned up he is a plumber so his bed is always full and when he needs to haul a waterheater he has to strap it to the top of his toolboxes and wanted something a little lower to the ground so i decided to build one rather then buy it and saved a lot of money and gave me some good practice

looks good.
we have one for the f250, and i will say one thing that has come in handy on it:
d-rings. so we can tie off straps around the things we load up in it.
ours has taller sides. about 3-4" tall, to keep the ice chests from sliding out... it has a big center brace, too, like the guys mentioned.

the angle i use is 1.5 so after the mesh is laid in there it still has 1.25" of a side so its not like its flat or anything

I was going to throw gas in there just for kicks but there wasn't a place that would benefit from it
Wouldnt the back of it need some reflective tape? I am not sure how that stuff works, according to the law, i mean.
Looks good. I have a friend who welds and a friend of my step dad welds. I need to learn too. Then i would build a miniture Eiffel Tower and move to Paris, Texas.

i'm going to put one of those brake lights that go into the hitch in the hole of the 2" tube so i don't think i need the relective tape, i just haven't got the light yet

Looks real good-what are the dimensions? i think im gonna build one for my dad too
