Hey guys new to Ford Rangers and new to this forum do any of you know where I can get a mid frame cross member over the gas tank that the rear gas tank strap connects to mime is rotten I have a 2004 Ranger XT reg cab short box 2wd 2.3 5 speed or even a pattern to have on made can`t drive it till it is fixed and the saftey inspection is due in January 2014 I have searched all the local salvage yards with-in 200 miles of my home in Nova Scotia What a sad way to start off with my first Ford product making me want to go back to a Dodge

 

You're talking about the cross member that the stap goes into? If so mine is rotted aswell and I've already gone down this road for you on my own truck
best bet is to build your own cross member or in the mean time, fake it for the safety test. you can toss the strap in there and providing they dont grab it, it'll hold. You can even just glue the strap to the tank to make it look functional.
