R-F standard for articulation ramp
we're gonna make an articulation ramp. I know there is a "score" that can be assigned to your run. I wonder if anyone else has one, and if so what degree do you have? It makes sense to keep the same angle so the scores have a meaning to them.
Looks like 20, 23, and 30 degree are what is out there. It's looking like 30 degrees is the newest style. Comments? |
adjustable?

I'm a member of a local Jeep club. Check out this thread. These guys are hardcore and know their stuff.......
download this excel spread sheet, it's got some information............. http://www.kreationkrawlers.com/AZVJC/RTI%20Ramp1.xls http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/showt...light=rti+ramp |
Thanks bryan. That will help. With the reading I did, it looks like the number can be converted from one angle to another. As in a 300 on a 23 degree would equal a 250 on a 30 degree (not real numbers, but....)
|
Yup, that makes sense to me. It's all in the numbers..............

portablity seems easy enough to do. The tall side has an axle. Once the wheels are removed it sits flat on the ground. You can see a square hitch on the front of that pic.

^^that is just dumb......that truck could have easily rolled over...

lol. Matts not skeered of anything.
Funny you mention him. We discussed doing this a while back. |
Those ramps scare me driving up them... I always feel like I'm gonna drive off of it.
Plus I always go to the local 4x4 shop and I can only get about 1ft up the ramp because it sits on gravel and I'm 2wd haha... L/S doesn't even help. |
Google RTI or Ramp Travel Index... should tell you everything you ever needed/wanted to know...
|
hahaha damn matt is crazy! now i just want to see him go that high driving up it!! hahaha
|
he could do that cause the 98+ front end is so stiff and only allows so much articulation.
|
im tempted..... im allready thinking how to do wheels on it and makeing it adjustable angle.
muhaha |

A local 4x4 shops ramp (same one with the hitch in my above post)
23° Ramp Technical information: · 1.75"x1.20" wall steel tube · Bright red powder coat finish · 4 link cantilever coil spring suspension · Dual Rancho RS9000 shocks per wheel · Rancho coil springs · 17" of useable wheel travel · Alloy Beadlock wheels · Super Swamper tires · 33x15.5x15 TSL-SX · Jeep spindles with Warn hub conversion Attachment 206152 Since a few guys like DCs here you go! This is at a Jeep dealership. A guy from the club works there so they had a jamboree thing with over 100 jeeps that showed up, then they went wheeling. This is their ramp. The wheels are for show and not connected to a real axle like the above ramp. Attachment 206153 Here is a Sheriff's rig. It's real. I just had to post it because it's bad ass! It was at one of the local trail cleanups. I searched and found more pics. Attachment 206154 Attachment 206155 Attachment 206156 Attachment 206157 |
