Rock Sliders

Does anyone know where i can find a pair of sliders for a ranger or am i going to have to fab them up? does anyone know some that will fit with minimal fabrication involved?

also what about a set of n-fab nerf step bars? I like them but dont know if they will stand up to a rock hit or big time scrub without bending.

Most nerf bar i've seen would cripple with any decent impact.

Yeah from what I've seen most nerf bars are just like 14 gauge or 11 gauge. You'd really need some good ol' DOM .120 wall tube. Hell, HREW would probably work as well specially with mild wheeling.

As far as pre-made ones, I've never seen any. I've always been curious to know how hard it would be to take something like:

http://www.shrockworks.com/Nissan-Ro...ers-c-261.html

and make it work on a Ranger. But at the same time, if your going to have to make mounts, you might as make the whole thing since you'll probably be saving a lot of money.

Toyota Tacoma sliders would fit with little modification.

You can get universal sliders that are in different lengths. Then you need to mount them with some tubing and plate. You'll need a welder to weld it together and then just bolt it to your frame.

my buddy has Jeep Cherokee sliders on his extended cab ranger.

he got them really cheap, cut the stock brackets off, and made his own.

they fit very nicely, didnt trim them or nothing.

ill see if i can get you some pics

At minimum you could use some flat st.eal and bolt it together and then bolt it to the frame. BUt would look like crap and might not work very well.

I would highly suggest a tube bender and welder. Then anything is possible.

anybody with a tube bender and welder can easily make some rock sliders.

check this site out, hes got some universal ones available all you need to do is measure.

http://www.bbpfab.com/4436/index.html

Its probably not worth the shipping cost to get them

I'll keep that in mind. It would be nice to have some, but I'd need a Saturday off.

its not going to bend the tube correctly at all, if it is even strong enough to bend it.

it will crush the corners alot, which in turn will weaken it.
