Side Steps for 96 Ranger XLT

Hi all. I want to install small side steps on my 96 Ranger as my wife has hip and knee issues and they would make getting in and out much easier for her. My question is do any of you know exactly how I can mount the steps? I would think they would mount to the frame but not sure.
Appreciate any inputs.

I'm guessing... find the set of Side-Steps you like, check out the Install Instructions, usually on the Sellers Site or Linked to the Manufacturer's Site !

Now you know as much as any of us about the specific Steps you want.

Also guessing, some attache to the frame and some attach to the body of the vehicle.

Some have steps built in the Side Bars, some are just Small Steps alone, so the first thing is to decide which ones you want, which look like the ones you want.

If I were looking for Side Steps, I'm taking mine off, but not sure when, I would get some that attach to the frame, since you want steps that your wife can use without any problems. !

How soon do you need them ?

Ltr from SoCal...

Scrambler 82---Not in a huge rush to get them. I just want to make it easier for the wife to get in and out. The truck is our second vehicle ans we use it to run errands around town and drive out to the air base to the commissary.
Where in SoCal are you located? We are in Hemet.

I'm fairly new in the area but Temecula... next door.

When I take the EDGE OEM Bar off the RED '03 I will let you know and if they are something you want you can have them.

The passenger side needs a little work, thanks to a SoCal Driver trying to make a red light but I think it is fixable !

When I take them off I will get some pictures...

That would be super. Please do take some photos and send them to me. We make a trip to Temecula about every 90 days to get medications at the Navy Pharmacy off California Blvd. but we will make a special trip to get those, so just let me know and thanks again.

OK I will see if I can get some pictures and let you know when I take them off.
They will need some work, as I said some bend metal in the brackets on the passenger side and you will need to repaint of get them Powder Coated.
If you do the Powder Coating there is a location near me that does a great job and seems to be reasonable in price.

I am working on Projector Headlights and an '06 Mirror Swap, then the Steps, everything takes me four times longer to do that someone else.... I am "The Master Procrastinator" !

Maybe you can tell me if there are any Junk Yards around the area.
I have tried looking up some locations but NOTHING; just California, I'm guessing !

Later,

I didn't gt a chance to get a new picture of the bars.
Here is what they looked like when I first got the Truck.

Your is a 96 and the Bars are off this '03, so I'm not sure of fitment, but I'm thinking they can't be far off !

This one shows the Passenger Side Bar, as you can see the rear of the Bar is dipped a little.
I am not sure what is bent but I'm thinking it can't be too much and should be able to be straightened.

I will try to get some thing more tomorrow, one of the Mounting Bracket on the P-Side will give us info on how it might be fixed.

Again, if these work and WHEN I get them off they are yours.
