Got some more done last night...

I designed a hatch to go into the floor so that I can have a large deck without wasting the space underneath it..

I'll have a barrel under there to throw my fish in..

believe me. it is not bowing at all.

that is all 1" 16ga steel square tubing...

it's a combination of the boat raising towards the front, coming in, and slanting forward... (the deck follows the same lines - the tube has bends in it, which you are seeing)... and the bad picture at night with the flash off makes stuff in the background look like it's part of the knee rail... there is no bowing with 500+ lbs on the deck...

i'll get day pics soon.

the whole deck is getting galvanized in a week or two, so that i don't have to worry about the steel rusting...

i have to extend my trolling motor shaft, build the light tabs, install the lights, install the generator, wire all that up, build some bow holders, cup holders, wire running lights, etc... so i still have some work to do.. but I'm shooting in a tournament in 2 weeks. it will be ready to go for that tourney for sure!

then i'm adding float pods, like these:

we ended up breaking my $50 extended trolling motor shaft today... the threads went in wrong and when we backed it out, the pipe wrench cracked the composite material... so that sucks. ordering another one tomorrow.

got all the light tabs built and a bunch of stuff welded and finished up... also built my g/f a stand for her aquarium today.

here are some day pics that you guys requested...

Still needs a few minor modifications and some additional features, but for the most part it is done now. I took the boat out for about 4 hours last night/this morning. The rear sits a little too low, now, so the float pods will help alot. I still need to sand the boat down and repaint, but here are the new pics:

Went out this afternoon to test her a little more...

I found a few broken things on the boat and some room for improvement with the trolling motor mount and some other little things... Other than that it went well and I'm done updating this thread:

the deck only weighs a little over 120lbs... doesn't really affect the front of the boat too much...

my motor is pretty heavy, considering my boat is only 16ft long and it's a 70hp. the generator, battery and motor pull the rear down a little more than i like, so i am having float pods added... i think i posted them earlier, but here's what will be added onto the back:
