Just remember...these numbers.....are chassis dyno numbers....so at the wheels. Your gross gain is more than 75, so 207 + like 100 at the crank = 220ish at the wheels.

Is there room for an intercooler?

Jer...you need to get your truck tuned and thrown on the dyno son! Throw in injectors for the second pass.

02oregonedge+ 06-30-2009 04:46 PM

So when is shane gonna take the leap into the supercharged world????

David N 06-30-2009 04:48 PM

Procharger kits come with an intercooler. I had a local quote me for $3700 installed. That is everything, WITH an intercooler. I suggest looking into procharger. He told me the kit for the rangers are the same as the 4.0 mustang kits.

02oregonedge+ 06-30-2009 04:48 PM

Their should be room, but looks like it would be tight. I think ron was working on 1 for his kit...

And yes Shane dyno run is coming this summer, around Sept or so..

End thread jack....

Engine bay is different and maybe the throttle body is in a different location. The reason they have an intercooler is because their kits use centrifugal superchargers which are pretty much belt driver turbos while the RP and EE kit use roots type superchargers that mount in place of the intake manifold.

Centrifugal:

Roots:

Yah, I know the difference, but was just saying to look into them.

whippersnapper02 06-30-2009 05:03 PM

They still wont bolt on. The engine is the same except for maybe the accessory location and the bay that its in.

EE will pass smog and the RP kit wont. At least in CA it wont. If you have a guy that will look past it when the time comes then go with the RP kit.

i live in nevada. smog consists of plugging into the obd2 port and thats it lol

i wont have a problem.

Tys 4x4 FTW 06-30-2009 06:59 PM

a centrifugal would be nice, but i'd much prefer a roots type blower. for a few reasons. one i have a bunch of experience with them and can service it with my eyes closed almost. second, the m90 is one hell of a supercharger. it doesnt put out big numbers, but its efficient and lasts, with little maintenence.

The RPcaster kit is well made and is fairly easy to install.. I could sell you my blower if your interested. I'm getting a new one this week!!

depending on price, i'm very interested lol

PM me

and may i ask why you are getting a new one?

Tys 4x4 FTW 06-30-2009 07:04 PM

another thing, will i be seeing any kr on stock exhaust manifolds.

i plan on headers eventually.
the manifolds are cast, which usually means imperfections from the factory. would it help any if i took them off and ported them a bit?

i did that on my grand prix before i ran headers, and saw a bit of an improvement just because the casts were so inconsistent from the factory

whippersnapper02 06-30-2009 07:07 PM

I'm sure cleaning them up some will help.

Tys 4x4 FTW 06-30-2009 07:22 PM

yeah i'd imagine so

man i wish i could get this done already

i keep watching vids of supercharged rangers lol

Fx4wannabe01 06-30-2009 07:36 PM

I looooooooooove this one. I sit in my truck making whining sounds while shifting gears while playing the intro to 'What I've Done'....YES, I still make car sounds.

Fx4wannabe01 06-30-2009 07:37 PM

mkay..watched it again. And I literally giggled like a little school girl drooling over the Jonas Brothers.

Man watching that gives me the chills. But the good chills if you know what I mean. Kind of like the first time I saw transformers

yetti96 06-30-2009 08:50 PM

It only gets worse. I used to listen to S/Ced 4.0s all the time and now I listen to 5.4s S/Ced and that whine is something I would love, love to have. Tranny on the other hand won't be too happy.

whippersnapper02 06-30-2009 08:53 PM

I just want a V8. The supercharger can come later.

Tys 4x4 FTW 06-30-2009 09:16 PM

I thought about saving up for a v8 swap. Woulda done something nobodys done lol
but my truck is still under warranty. Don't wanna get too ahead of myself haha

Nah. If I get a V8 I'm getting a V8 car not doing the swap. SRT8 Magnum anyone?

Tys 4x4 FTW 06-30-2009 09:24 PM

Hell yes! A guy in my old neighborhood has a badass one. It's red. Slammed. And the stock wheels are like a dark charcoal color. Wow. Just wow.

whippersnapper02 06-30-2009 10:58 PM

Well when I pay off my quad this month and save some money I may be picking one up. I love the wagon look and the 6.1 V8. It gets about 20-22MPG highway according to the forum members so that is better than my truck.

Tys 4x4 FTW 07-01-2009 12:51 PM
