should have grabbed a camera

A guy came over to pick up a new superlift driveshaft from me. He rolled in with a 2004 4.0 stepside. dark shadow grey. Superlift kit. Explorer express SUPERCHARGER, moto black/polished wheels. It was sweet.

I showed him this site and some pics of the local trucks. Hopefully he'll sign up here and post his up.

I did get to drive it. Couldn't really get in the rpms cause of the neigborhood. It seemed a little weak. He just moved from Denver so the altitude difference has to have an impact on the tune.

I offered up a data log to see what the problem is. Well....I volunteered Kevin to do a data log.

I was thinking about you Maurice. If I post a pic, your ranking in the list of best looking trucks on the forum would go down a notch.

It seemed weak? I head that the roots style chargers, like the EE, are suppose to greatly help the low-end making the throttle feel very "peppy".

it all depends on PCM tuning.....if it was tuned for the altitude he used to live at and now lives at a lower altitude, he needs a different air to fuel ratio for the new altitude...

I think its a tuning issue and the new altitude he's at.

My wifes Thunderbird runs low 15 in the 1/4 mile and it pulls harder than his truck. With the xx he should be at that or faster.

I'm gonna try to get a track meet set up in the next few weeks and see if he'll come out.

Legion 10-08-2007 11:51 AM

what size tires was he running etc?
