Turbo Ranger.......

This guy told me about a turbo he put in his buddies Ranger....so i was interested and asked him if he could post pics of it on his cardomain.....

If you guys want you can ask him more about it.....but here are the pics....and the page I got it from.....http://www.cardomain.com/ride/284091/8

Edit: oh yeah and if you read through his pages some of them are funny....like his "spiff on ricers" page

Just thought i would put it out here....just in case someone is interested....i think he said he works for the company or something.... ...i dont know.

looks like a turboed 3.0... never seen one of those before... the easiest way to have a turbo ranger is to use a 2.3T from a thunderbird or similar vehicle

that was the STS turbo that sits in near the muffler... not an underhood one.

There was a Twin Turbo Ranger on Ebay awhile back, search for it on here. Turbos are gods gift to man and his car/truck.

that 4.0 Twein turbo only put down like 225 tothe wheels.... it was slow for a twin turbo... I havne't seen a ecent turbo setup yet on any other ford engine other than a 4 banger....

Yeah there was much more power left in those turbos. I know they could get 300hp with ease. Hell 400hp is possible with proper tuning and parts.

Yeah Doug said that the STS'd Ex was hella fast! I've seen an STS'd Tacoma running on the beach and that sucker was a beast also! I think the STS would be a sweet system, even if it's under the vehicle.

You can turbo anything if you got the money. Power is not hard to get as long as everything is tuned and matched to your truck and needs. You dont want to get a real small turbo on a v6 because it will drop off before your redline or shift point. You need to make sure you get the right a/r on both sides that way its still at full boost by the time you shift. Making a lot of power isnt hard. Its keeping the motor together that is hard. Benefit of having a ranger is that Doug at Bama Chips can tune for one for you. Some cars have to have piggy back or a stand alone like my previous car. If you guys have any questions let me know because if I can help I will.

Shane

I'm about to turbo my 4.0 OHV 95 Ranger. I'll keep you updated. Still in the baby stages. I'm running a Garrett T3 .43/.48. Small turbo, but I plan on boosting to 10 psi on stock internals so we'll see what happens. I just rebuilt the engine myself at 124,000 miles. I bought the SOB for $500 and it's worth about $3500 blue book. Can't complain.

Cool! I just noticed that Neon's windshield sticker says "Chicks dig the style... not the 1/4 mile."
