I could go into a 5 page answer... but I'll give a few short "rules of thumb" fer ya.
1) Using all stock parts.. don't exceed a 35% power increase.
2) Shocking drivetrain parts is how you will break them. So.. not hard launches and no hard shifting when making big power.
That said.. I say go with a ramped up nitrous kit or a intercooled turbo pushing 6-8psi.

I was looking at about 8psi with a turbo intercooled of course.
If you have any recommendations on beefin up the drivetrain please let me know.
I should look for about 55HP extra which wouldn't be to bad just over 200HP in the 3.0.

I still don't believe it though - 8 pages 200+ posts and no pictures? WTF???
Been there, done that - BONE STOCK trans, driveshaft and 7.5" rear - no issues.
Notice I mentioned nothing about the clutch? - Spend $, go big.
I've done an M62 (Pontiac Bonneville) and a Whipple on my '94. You can do whatever you want with thought, $ and time. Don't rush it, do it right. FMU's are a COMPLETE waste of time, money and effort. Do it right, and reflash the PCM with the proper size injector.

If you want turbos check these guys out www.nelsonracingengines.com . Go to the watch the video link and pick test drive NRE dyno TV. They have a 4.3 V6 twin turbo engine pushing 1200 horsepower on only 24 lbs of boost. and they have turbo kits availble but it will cost you alot of money. It is under TT Twin Turbo catagory as a 1200 hp 4.3 liter V6 chevy.
