I've never seen a Vortech Centrifical supercharger on a ranger.....might be out there but why? What engine do you plan on installing it onto?

I want to put it on my 4.0L ranger. There is a kit for it, it runs 8lbs of boost. I really want a Eaton M90 but i heard its a pain in the a** to install. I think you have to make a custom manifold. I like the roots because you get boost right away and the centrif. you get boost like at 3000-3500 rpms.

I'm thinking about the M90 myself....

Has anyone installed a M90 on a 4.0 OHV? I have seen all SOCH kits. I like the idea of the centrif. but im not totally sure about it. I want all my power right away so I may just go with the M90.

Idk i think i may stick with the centrif. I love the sound the roots make but i have heard from my friend with a procharged v6 that the centrifs are more efficent tho. I just want more hp!!!! haha

I believe Wed ( Turner, from RPS ) had a Vortech or Paxton on his ride.

Centrifugal SC's with being plumbed for an innercooler are much more efficient then a roots type or Positive-displacement blower.

A guy on RPS ' The Van ' had one on a Windstar with an OHV motor.

what are the advantages and disadvantages to this? whats the real point just more power/speed/hp?

Less heat to the air charge and the options of running an inline innercooler to drop the temps of your air charge even more.

*IF* I were to use a blower again.. it would be a procharger, Roots blowers and detonation are a common mix. Sure, Water injection helps, but roots blowers generate a LOT more heat.
