Sub in extended cab and still use the jump seats

I thought i would post a couple quick pics of my setup for anyone interested in having a sub in an extended cab and still having the ability to use both jumpseats. When i go places with the family i usually take my explorer but it is not uncommon to go somewhere in the ranger with my daughter in the back. I wanted a sub but still the ability to use both jump seats if need be even though i geanerally only use one. This is what i came up with.

The sub and amp i had around from a previous car. The amp i mounted under the passenger seat and cannot be seen. The box was purchased on ebay and houses a single 12" sub. The demensions are: length = 20" bottom depth 7.5" top depth 5" and height 15". The box had .75 cubic feet of airspace. Not a ton but my 12" sounds pretty decent in it. It fits perfect behind the passenger seat and as you can see the jump seat can be folded down and a child can sit there if need be. Only thing i still want to do is add a protective grille to the sub.

Not too shabby. I'm going to be doing that but in my '98. Theres gonnna be one under both seat and im planning on doing 2 8" subs, so i dont have to worry about the cubic ft. It looks really good by the way

no problem thats why i made the post becasue i was in the same boat. I wanted a sub, but wanted the ability to use all the seats if need be. nice thing is if i need even more room the amp is hidden under the seat, just pull the speaker wire going to the box (which has quick connects) and out comes the box in about two seconds

yea i like that versatility. ive had cars where i could remove the box and a car that i couldnt. it is a PITA to have ZERO room in the trunk. at least ill have the opportunity if need be. now i just need to find some amps to work with all these new speakers and subs

wow that's exactly what i want myself now that i have seen that. I'd like to be able to hide my pioneer 12" right under the passenger jump seat in my extended cab. I bought one of those scosche build it yourself boxes at walmart but it seems like the dimensions might be a little too tall for it to fit under the seat.

Does anyone know of any boxes that might work (preferably in the 1.25 cubic range)? that ebay link is dead unfortunately :(

I'd have to do 2 badass 12's and they would have their knees in their face if I wanted to keep my jump seat.

There isnt much room back there anyway, so I took them out entirely.

You could get two shallow mount sub's and still use both jumps seats. and still ahve room to mount an amp.

Pless215 has 2 10's and he can still use one of his jump seats. He has a custom built box.
