I have an area about the size of a quarter in the bed thats rusted thruogh... And driversider rear fender lip has broken the clear coat.... Outside of that no other body rust.

In other news. My rear springs are shaped like a w. Lol!

Oh, and the max face cords a ranger can pull is 3, Not 4! Lol

No rust on mine. No rust on my '88 F350 either. Love the fact that ice and snow are rare around here lol.

everything rusts in the northern states from the salt they use when it snows.

My 05 is rust free right now, my 99 was pretty freaking close to rust free as well, just a small spot on the bottom of the tailgate... Looked at a 04 on my recent search with 85k miles on it, COATED with rust, under the doors were about to fall of, the whole frame, tailgate was TRASHED!

My 2000 is rust free except for a little on the frame and on the lower part of the doors. Take in mind this truck has been through 11 years of Minnesota winters.

Huge almost baseball size hole in my bed, rust all along the bottom of doors and tailgait.... I blame it on working at a car wash and cleaning it all the time when I first got it

03edge, i doubt thats the case, for the first 3 years i had the ranger, it was washed alnost daily....til my accident. Then life took over, loss of interest, and what not.... Geuss when you just about kill someone due to heirstupidity it kills the incentive. Any ways, i plan to remove the bed in the summer sandblast, prime and paint the bottom, blast the frame ect... Be good as new. Gotta get this truck to last another 10 years

Little bit on the doors and tailgate seams. Its shot blasted now so no more cancer but its the northeast. Nothing last forever and where you live has alot to do with it.

My 2004 has a few screws on the interior that are rusted plus my front bumper and most of the bolts and nuts connecting it to the frame.

I want to replace the rusted screws but I can't get them out any tips on removing them?

I had a small spot of surface rust about the size of a nickel on my back fender passanger side, right by my back tire and mud flap. I ground off the rust with a small dremel tool then hit it with some POR 15 and some custom mixed touch up paint. You can barely notice it now. A few scartches are touched up as well but other than that not much at all.

I put some rust proofing in a can type stuff on my frame when I bought it, and haven't checked it lately.

For a 2003 that's a 9 year old truck, it's looking very good. Much better than expected.

I wash it at least once a month and do a wax job on it twice a year and that seems to be keeping it in nice shape....At night it looks like a brand new truck !!

Frame, inside edge of the door lips. Mostly the passenger side. I bought the starter kit from por-15 but I was busy all summer and it rained a fair amount when I was free.

Now that you remind me, I also had a rust problem on the bottom door lip, on the passenger side...POR 15 and some touch up paint seems to have fixed it for now. My driver's side door is new due to a small accident and was replaced so I shouldn't have to worry about that for a while.

DS cab corner bubbled a dimes size in the spring. I ripped all the foam out of the corners dryed it out wire wheeled and painted the inside of both cab cornerss. Cut bubble off with a razerblade wirewheeled it it and touched up with primer and paint. I know I didnt stop it but hopefully I bought some time.
I oil the inside of of the doors and tailgate and seems to have stopped the rust in the pass side door edge.
