04+ ohc wiring

I know that 04+ has different wiring for the OHC. What are the differences when wiring them up? I'm mainly concerned about the matching up of the wires

2004 & Newer Ranger Differences:

There are a few differences for 2004+ as described by 'rwenzing' from our forums:

Console Power (Explorer Yellow/Gray at console): 2003 and older Ranger's use the Yellow/Black wire at the radio harness. 2004 and newer Ranger's use the Black/Pink wire at the radio harness.

Speed Sensor Input (Explorer Gray/Black at console): 2003 and older Ranger's use the Gray/Black wire at the GEM. 2004 Ranger's use the Gray/Black wire at the Smart Junction Box (brown connector). For 2005~2006, it can be accessed in the large wire bundle near the parking brake pedal.

Map Light Power (Explorer Lt. Green/Orange at console): 2003 and older Ranger's use the Lt. Green/Orange wire at the dome light. 2004 and newer Ranger's use the Lt. Green/Orange wire at the dimmer module.

One important correction is for the gray/black VSS wire at the SJB which was only there in 2004 MY. For 2005~2006, it can be accessed in the large wire bundle near the parking brake pedal.

The "2004 and newer" info was originally written in 2004 as an addendum to John Griggs's 2001~2003 How-to on CarDomain. It applies to 2004~2006 only except for the 05~06 VSS change noted above. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get in contact with John to ask him to update this info for the model years after 2004.
