16" y spoke rims on a 2wd?
16" y spoke rims on a 2wd?
I want to use 4x4 16" Y spoke rims on my 2011 2wd Ranger. I've read it won't fit the fronts due to the hub are too big. If I get the center bore on the rims machined out to fit will I still be able to use the center cap?...Has anyone done that before!?!
if you get them machined on the front, I don't think the center caps will fit. been a long time since i had my stock y spoke wheels, but if I recall they fit snug into that center bore.
I was thinking taking material off just in the inside diameter not all the way through where the cap would be sitting. My concern is if the bearing dust cap would stick out too far and I won't be able to reinstall the center cap. I have the 7 spoke chrome steel rims from my 03 ranger that I switched over when I traded it in it actually looks very nice but those Y spokes are so cool!
I just bought some off craigslist, and the add said they fit 2wd ONLY. Even though I showed the guy a picture of them on a 4x4 on the Ford website, he wouldn't believe me and said he would not guarantee they would fit my 4x4. So I say fine, knock off $100 and I'll buy them anyway, and he takes the deal!
