just put new head gaskets in a 1986 2.9 liter. in the process i dis attached the alternator bracket from the block. this was a few weeks ago. got everything put back together last night but cant seem to figure out how the brackets go back on. i have two peices, an aluminum bigger piece and a small rectangular steel piece, and a bigger bracket still attached to the alternator. i cant for the life of me figure how the go back together. if anyone has a ranger around this year could you take a picture of the alternator were it attaches to the block? it would be a great help.

what was the process involved removing from block

 

sniksoh hasn't been here in over 9 years, he couldn't remember a couple weeks after he took it off what the process was, so I doubt after 9 years he remembers.
