1998 Ford Ranger XLT Flareside + New 07 Mirrors & 15" wheels & 30" BFG's

Well I've been slowly doing mods to my truck and my latest things I've done was put 07' Mirrors on the truck, got some 15" chrome stock wheels with 30" BFG ATKO's.

Hope you like the pics. All I have to do is find some 06/07 tails, clear headlights, clear corners, new stereo, nerf bars, and new instrument cluster with tach. Also I think I'm going to recover my armrest in black leather.

Before

After

remember, when you put 07 tails on a 98, you need to convert to a two bulb set up from a 3 bulb set up

looks awesome man, nice job! I need to swap out my mirrors for those. Did you just manually move those or did you install switches?

You need to get clear corners and signals, and a billet grille and call it a day.

Robert99ranger - Thanks it's coming together slowly.

Offroadn redneck - Nope I know the history of this truck. It was my dad's and he bought it new.

Smakes - I got the mirrors at a local junkyard. I had to haggle with them. I believe they will work on a 96'. Here's a link that shows it for a 93': http://generation-edge.info/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8529

Toreador4x4 - I've been searching for documentation on how to do that. The How-To in the How-To section is gone so I'm a bit confused. Some say you can drill a third hole other's like yourself say to converter 3-bulb to 2-bulb. I can use all the suggestions that I can get. Also I saw that some people say that Non-Ford parts do not fit correctly on a Stepside. I was thinking about purchasing the Certifit model but not sure if anyone has installed them on a stepside.

cchsbuzz19 - These were manual mirrors only.

crazymikey - Thanks! It is looking better than it did. I wish the paint was a bit better but I can't complain for a 11 year old truck which was never garaged in Missouri.

blue99ranger - You got pics of your old one?

Crazymikey - I want clear corners, clear headlights and signals but not sure of a good vendor on eBay to get them from.

Jeweler - Yeah I've been toying with the idea but the topper is very handy for the dogs and also for camping.

Kenny992wd - Thanks they're a lot more stable at speed and they don't have to be realigned when you want to push the mirrors in. The mirror is fixed but the assembly moves.

Toreador4x4 - Help me find that link?

in regards to changing to the newer tails...you could just run a 00+ taillamp harness.... it'll plug right in and be proper and look completely OEM.

How much did you pay for your mirrors? I found some on ebay for like 30-40 bucks.

I got mine at a junkyard and paid $70 for both. I've heard only get the geniune Ford part but that's what I've just heard, mainly because of the quality.

He didn't have to change anything. Rangers went to a 2 bulb set up in 2000.
