I’m having problems finding a newer reg cab 4x4 with a short box. So I’m curious if it’s possible to take the 4x4 components from a 1998 reg cab 4x4 short box manual and put them onto a 2008 reg cab 2WD short box automatic? Has anyone done this? Could I maybe use the the 4x4 components from my 2007 ext cab sport 4x4 to swap onto the 2008 reg cab 2WD?

 

Nope, frames are completely different, nothing will bolt up. Only option is to swap the frame from the 4x4 truck to the 2008 truck. The 4x4 suspension was relatively the same from 1998-2011.
