2 nd moter in 2 months

OK in July my motor had a bearing seized up on my 09 ranger sport 3.0 covered by warranty. It died about 75 miles from home they fixed it and was pleased with the service. Now 2200 miles later the long block that they put in is fried ether a bad water pump or maby head gasket. the local dealer is doing a tear down on Monday and ford asked for a cost assessment and may send in a investigator for this. So not sure what they will do for me but I'm pissed and not sure if I will stay brand loyal any one have a situation like this 2 motors in 2 months sucks. to top this off after meeting up with tow truck I got a speeding ticket for 70 in a 55 this was all on last Monday week did not get much better.

That sucks.... something has to be up because 3.0's hardly ever give trouble!

Crappy parts can be overcome by customer service. Wait & see what they decide to do before jumping brands. An honest concern for my loyalty and quick results win out over frustration and doubt.

I'd say you just got a bad run of luck. Give em a shot and see if they make it right.

Well truck has been at dealer for 6 days and they lifted the hood once. Apparently they want a certain tech to work on it and he is in middle or a diesel and has not finished it. But a Friend that manages a parts store said that is the only tech in the dealership that he would let touch his truck. So still not happy but they are covering my rental it's a 2011 V8 4 door Dakota. but will go broke at gas pump.

i had a waterpump problem with mine.

went out, got it fixed.

moved home, it went out within a month.

got it fixed under warranty at a different shop.

had that one in for less than a month and got a new one.

kinda weird but it was all just faulty parts.

That sucks but hopefully ford makes it right for you. I'm surprised they put you in a dodge to be honest. When I worked at the dodge dealer they use to request they only rent Chrysler products to folks with problems cause they didn't want them changing their mind on a vehicle choice that they don't sell. Haha. That's and Chrysler makes the crappiest cars. Haha. The service manager told me they didn't want people finding out that their cars suck.

Ford has never done me or my family wrong. That why we have always had them.

Im sure they would gladly put you in a little compact car if gas is a concern, and you ask. Although, unless you're getting on it (looks at 70 in a 55 ticket) it shouldnt be that much worse than your ranger on gas (because mpg in rangers sucks)

As for your trouble with the truck, that sucks... Hopefully they get you squared away, and trust me... You would rather wait for the good tech to work on it than let some dipshit mess it up again.

I had a water pump in my 4.0L go but I think it had to with the first trip to SL. Either way, the dealer covered it.
