Icon14 2001 Ranger - How Much Is My Truck Worth??

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to get a feel for my truck, as I'll be posting it up for sale in the next month of two, pending the weather we get.

I currently have a 2001 Ford Ranger Edge.

I'm the second owner, I have all paperwork (window sticker, you name it) from the previous owner. The only modifications the truck has are the wheels (I have the original factory wheels as well).

The truck has 34,000 miles, no rust (aside from a small amount on the lower lip of the tailgate), and runs absolutely strong.

3.0 V6 2WD, Automatic, manual seats, manual windows, no sliding rear window.

Picture for reference:

SOO...

What would you pay for the truck? I have an idea, but being as you are all Ranger enthusiasts, I wanted your input as well.

Thanks!

-Chris

Considering the low miles, I would start at around $7000.

Mileage is good but the age is going to kill you engines that have that kind of age and low miles tend to start leaking bad since it doesn't run enough to keep the seals wet so they dry rot.Consistent yearly miles is key i have an identical truck to my buddies same year same motor mine had VERY low miles for the first five years and now leaks a good bit done a lot of seal replacements and my buddies has 250000 and has only had valve covers done. Id start around $6000 but be prepared for people to hard ball you because of that.

It's 13 years old, I'd pay $3000-$3500 tops.
Aside from the edge package, you have a basic tuck without power options or 4wd.

You also have to look at location, trucks are higher here where I am then say Toronto.
Your best bet is look up KBB or kijiji/Craigslist and go from there.

I've looked for comparision for my truck, In a perfect world I'd get $10k for mine. I'm gonna be firm on that price but I'll be lucky to get $8k.

Clean truck, low miles but very plain. Edge package doesn't help because more than anything it's just a sticker without options.

I'd replace the original wheels because you'll just end up giving them away with the truck. Sell the wheels separately or use them on your next vehicle since you like black (I don't and they'd be a dealbreaker for me if I was looking). Very seldom do aftermarket options add much value.

You could probably get 4500 - 5K here in Missouri but that rust could kill you. Hell, you're in Buffalo...doesn't everything have rust on it there?

I buy my used vehicles from Arizona...no rain, no snow, no rust and it's a nice road trip with friends at the other end.
