just purchased a 2003 fx4 ranger which has gibson dual exhaust and knn air intake / air filter - looking to get a tuner for MPG - any recommendations.

few options, superchips flashpaq, superchips cortex, i beleive SCT livewire or maybe its called something else, im only going off a old memory on the SCT one. Google, or the search feature can help you out more

 

I recommend the SCT's I know a guy who sells them new and used and he really knows his stuff about them

I have the flashpaq which is the same as the cortex. For a basic tune thats plug and play I like it.

SCT. I purchased my tune from LaSota racing. I have purchased two tunes from him and recieved them the same day. Don is easy to work with and makes a good product.

 

Xcal for sure. If mpg are your main goal I think you will be disappointed with the results

Where do you get the tunes from for the sct? They don't come with em do they like the superchips does. I want one for performance, and for MPG increase. If I can get 1-3 mpg better I'd be very happy.

 

that's because with the SCT you get custom tunes for YOUR truck. the superchips preloaded tunes are much more generic, and therefore less beneficial.

You can get tunes from different places, as mentioned earlier, there is also Fred with rogue performance that has a lot of ranger experience.
